Day 3 has come and gone and I'm still posting at ungodly times. Really, I should start posting earlier and getting some sleep. I've recently taken to falling asleep in the middle of the day in various places throughout the house, and really think I should stop.
Soooooo, not much progress today. Just a bit of info on the main character that I will share with you riiiiiiiight.... now.
This guy's a former Earthside smuggler, with a bit of experience in interplanetary running. He's a fairly harsh man, unwilling to let things come between him and his missions, but lenient with younger members of the team, and actually pretty honorable. Goes around dressed in layers of scrappy military clothes, is permanently poorly shaven, and generally looks like a soldier hobo. His second in command has been with him since the early days of planetary smuggling. This guy's a lot more of a .... chill dude. Always willing to listen to the complaints and remarks of the others in the crew, and patient when explaining the intricacies of a job. Sometimes acts as the lead's conscience.
What I need is NAMES!!! Why are they so hard to come up with?

The captain sounds a lot like Mal from Firefly. Is he going to have a military background?
ReplyDeleteActually, despite the clothing, no formal military background. In comparison to Mal, I'd say that he's more of a bad guy. Like Mal is basically a good guy who's also a smuggler. My guy is a bad guy, who just isn't totally bad. Like he probably would have returned the medicine in the Train Job, but he wouldn't have helped the ladies of negotiable affections in Heart of Gold.
